A perfect central location in Kapaa on the Eastside, mid-way between Hanalei and Poipu or Waimea.
Hike Waimea Canyon, the "grand canyon of the pacific". Many of the hikes are through rainforest. The Sierra Club schedules guided hikes regularly, a treat if you are interested in the flora and fauna of the area.

The challenging Kalalau trail takes 8 hours and is only for the fit and brave, but you can get this view of the Napali Coast after an easy 20 minute hike from Ke'e Beach on the North shore.
